About the Role:
A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Haringey is looking for a Sports-Based SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team. This is an exciting role for someone who is passionate about sport and supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN). You’ll have the opportunity to make a real impact by helping pupils build confidence, develop new skills, and succeed both in the classroom and through physical activity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEN, including autism, ADHD, and social, emotional, and behavioural needs.
  • Use sport and physical activity to inspire and engage children, fostering teamwork, resilience, and self-esteem.
  • Support teachers with lesson delivery, behaviour management, and adapting materials for accessibility.
  • Assist in PE lessons, playground activities, and after-school clubs, promoting healthy lifestyles and active learning.
  • Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and parents to monitor progress and tailor interventions to individual needs.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children, ideally within a school or SEN setting.
  • A strong background or interest in sport, coaching, or physical education.
  • Ability to engage and support pupils with additional needs.
  • Energetic, resilient, and committed to making a difference.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (essential).
