Overview

Are you looking for an employer that offers growth and development in your speech and language therapy career within a friendly multidisciplinary team in an educational setting? Do you want flexibility and creative opportunities to deliver specialist SLT assessment and intervention to foster independence in an education setting, supporting the growth of apprentices, students and therapy assistants? This role sits within the in‑house clinical team at Syon Grange/Colne Grange – London and involves collaborative work with the education team to deliver bespoke SLT assessment and intervention to pupils who may have experienced developmental trauma, be neurodivergent, or have SEMH needs. You will work under the OFG Speech and Language Therapy Ways of Working to guide practice and clarify roles and responsibilities in line with governing and professional body requirements.

You will be responsible for holding a Speech and Language therapy caseload with the full support of your designated clinical supervisor and site lead, and you will contribute to staff training and consultation as required. Responsibilities
  • Deliver bespoke Speech and Language Therapy assessment and intervention within an education setting, in collaboration with the education team.
  • Hold a caseload with clinical supervision and contribute to staff training and consultation as required.
  • Participate in a multidisciplinary approach and work with families/relatives and carers where appropriate.
  • Support the development of an enhanced SLT offer by contributing to the growth of apprentices, students, and therapy assistants.
  • Adhere to the organisation’s standards and the OFG Speech and Language Therapy Ways of Working.
  • Engage in opportunities to participate in research projects, special interest groups and regular training forums.
Qualifications
  • Undergraduate or Postgraduate degree in Speech and Language Therapy
  • HCPC registered
  • 1–2 years of experience as a fully registered RCSLT member working in a similar setting
  • Experience engaging and working with individuals with complex and diverse communication profiles
  • Knowledge of neurodiversity and trauma‑informed practice
  • Experience of multidisciplinary working in various settings
  • Experience communicating with/working with families, relatives and carers
  • Interest in developing knowledge and skills across different areas of SLT practice
  • Strong relationship building, analytical and judgmental skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Good time management and organizational skills
  • Competence in core areas of SLT practice and understanding of RCSLT Communication Standards
  • Knowledge of SLT assessment tools, intervention types, and how to formulate support plans based on needs profiles
  • Knowledge of legislation and its implications for clinical practice and professional management
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Willingness to attend training and work towards further qualifications relevant to the client group
  • Desirable: understanding of sensory and motor differences that may impact communication; awareness of arousal and communication; full driving licence and access to a car (highly desirable)
Salary, Benefits and Terms
  • Salary: Up to £53,200 pro rata (dependent on experience) plus £5,000 Welcome Bonus (payments split: £2,500 after one month and £2,500 after completion of probation; terms apply)
  • Starting salary bands: basic SALT from £33,000+, Specialist from £39,500+, Highly specialist from £48,000+
  • Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with hours overlapping core school hours; part‑time considered
  • Contract: Permanent (term time only, or flexible full‑time arrangements can be discussed based on circumstances)
  • CPD support: £2,000 training allowance after probation to complete role‑specific training
