Job description

Overview

Triple West Medical have been appointed by an NHS Trust based in Greater London to help recruit a Specialty Doctor in General Psychiatry on a substantive or FTC basis.

The Trust provides a range of mental health, learning disability and substance misuse services for the local region. The successful candidate will join an enthusiastic and friendly department of Psychiatrists whose service includes inpatient, community services, specialist services, and emergency services.

Responsibilities

• Under the supervision of the ward Consultants, provide senior medical input to the care and treatment of psychiatric inpatients.
• Work with medical colleagues, the wider MDT and the patient\'s support system to support thorough assessment and implementation of robust management plans, to ensure timely, safe and effective discharge from inpatient care.
• Participate in Consultant-led ward rounds, review patients independently and work with junior medical staff to ensure the actions from clinical management plans, including physical health assessments, are completed promptly.
• Support the Consultants in their role as the Responsible Clinician for patients under the Mental Health Act.
• Be supported in your role by training-grade doctors, which would be a combination of Core Trainee and Foundation Doctors.

Requirements

• GMC registration and relevant experience is essential for this position.
