A prestigious NHS Trust seeks a Specialty Doctor in Adult Psychiatry for a 12-month role. The successful candidate will conduct assessments, supervise trainees, and work alongside a multidisciplinary team in a supportive environment. We have been assigned by one of the UK's prestigious NHS Trusts to assist in recruiting a Specialty Doctor in Adult Psychiatry on either a Substantive or NHS Fixed Term basis for 12 months to join their successful department.

They were authorized as a Foundation Trust on 1 May 2007. The site features a 38-bed acute inpatient mental health unit, with an additional 39th bed for CAMHS. It comprises two wards, Hazel Ward and Willow Ward, mainly serving working-age adults experiencing an acute mental health crisis. The wards operate 24 hours a day, staffed by a multidisciplinary team including doctors, nurses, occupational therapists, psychologists, peer support workers, pharmacy staff, and domestic staff.
Patients have access to therapeutic activities, including a fully equipped gym, in both group and individual formats. A Social and Recovery team supports patients nearing discharge, assisting with transition back to their environment and providing support to families and carers.
The Campbell Centre offers support for adults who are vulnerable, at risk, or experiencing an acute phase of serious mental illness. This includes those detained under the Mental Health Act, suspected cases of acute mental illness, or relapses of long-term mental illnesses that require inpatient care due to safety concerns.
The successful candidate will perform physical and psychiatric assessments, review patients with various psychiatric disorders admitted to Willow Ward, and work alongside a team including a Consultant Psychiatrist and Core Trainees. The role involves supervising trainees, supporting clinical duties, and writing discharge summaries. The appointee will review new patients within 72 hours of admission and participate in other clinical activities as needed. Regular supervision will be provided, and flexibility to work in other locations may be required.
