Technical Compliance Officer (Electrical) – Shrewsbury – Contract
Salary: £24 per hour PAYE or £34.11 per hour limited/paid via umbrella company inside IR35

Responsibilities
- Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of compliance safety regulations and standards and apply them to building services systems (electrical, mechanical services, HVAC, etc.).
- Manage compliance and performance: target setting, and measurement within their area; establish challenging but achievable targets for themselves and a team while maintaining performance.
- Manage contractors and build strong working relationships to achieve desired outcomes.
- Maintain awareness of relevant legislation and anticipate and plan for future changes in legislation.
- Ensure compliance with Service Level Agreements and performance management practices.
- Apply knowledge of CDM/H&S requirements for the Construction Industry and use CAFM software where appropriate.
- Utilize AutoCAD and Microsoft Office 365 in day-to-day activities.
- Oversee maintenance environments and ensure safety and regulatory compliance across electrical and related systems (including passenger lift systems, heating and heating control systems, emergency lighting and fire alarm systems).
Qualifications
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, or demonstrable relevant experience.
- Relevant qualifications such as City & Guilds 2391, 2382, or equivalent; and a relevant qualification in Health & Safety.
- At least 5 years of experience in compliance management or a similar role.
- In-depth knowledge of compliance safety regulations and standards; working knowledge of building services systems installation and operation.
- Understanding of Health & Safety and knowledge of relevant legislation with the ability to anticipate future changes.
- Experience with performance measurement, budget control systems, and establishing targets for teams.
- Experience of working for local government, and familiarity with outcomes under Service Level Agreements.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Experience in a maintenance environment and knowledge of IET Electrical Wiring Regulations BS 7671 (as amended).
- Demonstrable knowledge of UK building services related standards and experience of using CAFM software.
- Working knowledge of CDM/H&S requirements for Construction and CAD (AutoCAD).
