Job description

We are delighted to advertise positions within the Safeguarding Children Team (full & part time).

The post holder will be a key member of the Safeguarding Children Team and work closely with the Head of Safeguarding Children and Named Professionals in delivering the Safeguarding Children Strategy and associated work and audit plans for the Homerton Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust (HHFT).

The post holder will work across both community and acute settings, with a typical split of 3 days within the Community and 2 days from the hospital site. This may be adjusted in response to service needs.

Please note: There will be two available dates for interviews - 20th and 21st November.

Paediatric liaison work will involve working with the paediatric liaison health visitor to communicate effectively between primary, secondary and tertiary health, social care, and education services by following up all children and young people (0-18) who attend the Emergency Department (ED) or are seen in/outpatients services particularly when there are safeguarding concerns.

Safeguarding training and supervision work will be provided to named groups of staff in line with HHFT learning and development strategy and the safeguarding children supervision policy. The post holder will be expected to identify and provide evidence-based specialist information, advice, guidance, and support required to help staff practise safely to safeguard children confidently and effectively.

The post holder will collaborate with the Named Professionals to ensure that lessons learnt from audit and serious case reviews/case management reviews/significant case reviews are disseminated to staff and embedded to improve clinical practice.
