Job summary

A regional healthcare provider in Gloucester is looking for a professional to perform invasive and non-invasive cardiac investigations. The role involves working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, undertaking various responsibilities including maintaining patient records and assisting with device procedures. The ideal candidate will have the competence to interpret test results and ensure high-quality patient care while following departmental guidelines. This position requires a commitment to four long working days each week.

  • Assist in stock control and maintain accurate patient records.
Job description

The post holder will acquire and maintain a high level of professional competence in the performance of all tests, investigations and measurements carried out under the band 6 remit. They will be expected to interpret and act upon results of tests, investigations and measurements in accordance with departmental policies and procedures.

Job Responsibilities
  • Work within a multidisciplinary team that includes cardiac physiologists, assistant cardiac practitioners, radiographers, consultants, medical staff, nursing staff and all other personnel either hospital or externally based.
  • Partake in PCI and participate in the 24/7 PPCI on call rota as required.
  • Perform a range of invasive and non‑invasive cardiac investigations, including PCI and pacemaker/device procedures.
  • Assist in the responsibility for stock control ensuring levels are maintained appropriately.
  • Provide and receive complex technical information and interpret results for the care of cardiology patients and serve as a source of expert advice to patients, relatives and other healthcare professionals.
  • Work unsupervised, where experienced, and follow professional guidelines and protocols within the department.
  • Undertake training as necessary in particular in the field of pacing and devices.
  • Input data into computerised systems and maintain patients records to ensure accuracy.
  • Maintain the pacemaker and ICD database, including audit data.
  • Maintain and develop systems for remote follow up of devices as required.
  • Ensure equipment is kept safe.
Working Pattern

4 long working days per week: 3 days 8am‑6pm and 1 day 8am‑5.30pm.
