Overview

The role of Sous Chef at Rendlesham Care Centre is an opportunity for a highly skilled and passionate chef to create fresh, nutritious meals for residents. The successful candidate will support the Head Chef, lead by example, and showcase creative hospitality. The role offers a competitive hourly rate, benefits, and the chance to work in a diverse and inclusive environment.

Responsibilities
  • Assist the Head Chef in the planning, preparation, and serving of meals for residents.
  • Ensure the use of fresh ingredients and maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene.
  • Mentor and support the kitchen team; contribute to a positive, collaborative kitchen environment.
  • Deliver straight shifts with no evenings, and participate in a fully supported induction to develop healthcare-specific skills.
  • Support and coach teams through the Chef Academy program to progress in the organisation.
Qualifications
  • Extensive experience as a Sous Chef, preferably in a healthcare or hospitality setting.
  • Strong understanding of nutritional requirements and food safety.
  • Ability to lead and mentor a team.
  • Formal culinary training or qualifications would be an advantage.
