Job description

At Carnival UK, we’re on a journey to transform our technology landscape—and we’re looking for a talented Solution Architect to help lead the way. If you're passionate about designing innovative, scalable solutions and want to make a real impact in a dynamic, customer‑focused business, this could be your next big move.

As a Solution Architect, you’ll be at the heart of shaping how technology supports our business goals. You’ll work across a wide range of applications, translating complex business needs into clear, effective technical solutions. This is a role for someone who thrives on variety, enjoys solving complex problems, and is excited by the opportunity to influence the future of technology at Carnival UK. You’ll collaborate with stakeholders across the business and technology teams, ensuring our solutions are not only fit for purpose but also aligned with our long‑term strategy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Define and document solution architectures that align with business requirements, IT strategy, and existing systems.
  • Lead technical workstreams, working closely with suppliers and internal teams to ensure robust, end‑to‑end solutions.
  • Provide architectural leadership across a range of applications, systems and stakeholders.
  • Evaluate and recommend technologies that support our evolving system platforms.
  • Ensure alignment with enterprise architecture standards and governance processes.
Position Requirements

Our ideal candidates are those who possess not only the technical skills required for the role but also a passion for technology and a keen eye for detail.

  • Breadth of experience in solution design and architecture, ideally gained across diverse organisations—demonstrating adaptability to varying methodologies, cultures, and ways of working.
  • Expertise in defining and documenting technology solutions and reusable solution design patterns.
  • A solid understanding of application, infrastructure, integration and data architecture.
  • Proven ability to collaborate across large teams and influence stakeholders.
About You

You are someone who thrives in a collaborative environment yet can work with a high degree of accuracy and accountability. Your qualifications in technology are just the start; we’re looking for a team member who is eager to learn, grow, and contribute to our collective success.

  • Comfortable with ambiguity, you see it as a space for innovation and creative thinking.
  • Communicating with a wide range of stakeholders comes naturally, and you know how to tailor your message to different audiences.
  • Complex problems don’t intimidate you—in fact, you enjoy breaking them down and finding clarity.
  • Change energises you, especially when it brings opportunities to improve, evolve, and make a lasting impact.
Why Join Us?

Positioned within our internal structure from CUK15 (entry level) to CUK1 (Brand President), this role is classified as a CUK07, offered as a full‑time position, on a permanent basis, with hybrid working including up to two days from home. We offer a dynamic and inclusive workplace where your work makes a real impact. Beyond salaries and benefits, here’s what we offer:

  • Employee Discounted Cruising plus Friends and Family offers
  • Annual bonus
  • Car Allowance
  • Minimum 25 days leave, bank holiday allowance and holiday trading scheme
  • Contributory Defined Contribution Pension scheme
  • Company paid private medical and dental insurance and health assessment
  • In‑house Occupational Health help and access to digital GP
