Software Engineer

Venture 2

Venture 2 is building the next generation of AI-enabled products. Our work spans one-to-many inference systems with applications in anti-piracy, heavy industry optimisation, and prediction markets. We operate as a hybrid venture studio: developing our own D2C and B2B products while also working closely with partially owned companies through contract-based development.

Following a successful funding round and with a seven-figure contract backlog in place, we are expanding our engineering team. This is an opportunity to join early, gain exposure to cutting-edge systems, and progress rapidly into leadership roles.

Role Overview

We are seeking an ambitious developer at or around the beginning of their professional career. You will contribute to production systems, R&D, and cross-company product delivery. The ideal candidate is motivated to take ownership, learn quickly, and grow with the organisation.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to development of AI-powered products across multiple sectors.
• Build and maintain backend systems, APIs, and scalable inference infrastructure.
• Assist with research, prototyping, and evaluation of new model architectures.
• Implement production features end-to-end under guidance from senior engineers.
• Participate in code reviews, testing, deployment, and MLOps workflows.
• Work across internal products and contract-based venture projects.

Requirements

• Strong foundational programming skills in Python.
• Basic understanding of AI / ML models and how they are trained, deployed, and run.
• Familiarity / understanding with version control software (git).
• Ability to work in a fast-moving environment with evolving priorities.
• Curiosity, initiative, and willingness to learn new tools and frameworks rapidly.
• Clear communication skills and collaborative working style.

Nice to Have

• Experience with model serving, quantisation, or distributed inference.
• Exposure to containerisation and cloud environments (AWS / DO).
• Projects or open-source contributions demonstrating capability and initiative.
• Experience in data engineering, cybersecurity, prediction systems or financial systems.
• Ability to own the delivery pipeline from idea conception to delivery of product.
