Qualifications

  • Strong communication skills in both verbal and written forms.
  • Proficiency in IEC programming, especially ST, FBD, SFC, and LLD.
  • Experience in the software/systems design lifecycle.
  • In-depth knowledge of network and serial communication protocols.
  • Understanding of Control & Instrumentation Engineering and relevant industry standards.
  • Knowledge of Operational Technology Cyber Security.
  • Experience with multiple PLC platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Develop software for PLCs, PACs, and HMIs.
  • Produce and maintain design documentation.
  • Conduct system testing to ensure reliability and efficiency.
  • Commission integrated systems at client sites.
  • Provide software support across different departments.
  • Troubleshoot Orbital systems and provide technical support.
  • Maintain development/design records in line with QA systems.
  • Assist team members with technical issues and sharing knowledge.
  • Support other engineering disciplines within the design team.
  • Attend and contribute to design working group meetings.

Skills

Strong communication skills (verbal & written)

Location: Ellesmere Port (with occasional travel to client sites)
Salary: up to £60,0000
Reporting To: Senior Software Engineer
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 9am - 5pm

Responsibilities
  • Develop software for PLCs, PACs, and HMIs.
  • Produce and maintain design documentation.
  • Conduct system testing to ensure reliability and efficiency.
  • Commission integrated systems at client sites.
  • Provide software support across different departments.
  • Troubleshoot Orbital systems in the field and provide technical support.
  • Maintain development/design records in line with Orbital\'s QA system.
  • Assist team members with technical issues and knowledge sharing.
  • Support other engineering disciplines within the design team.
  • Attend and contribute to design working group meetings.
Essential Skills & Qualifications
