An educational provider is seeking an experienced Sociology Tutor to support a KS5 student with ASD in Kensington and Chelsea. Overview

Sociology Tutor: Based within the borough of Kensington and Chelsea, we are looking for a dedicated and experienced Sociology Tutor to support an incredibly dedicated and intelligent KS5 student with ASD and learning difficulties. This role has an immediate start and is for 52 weeks per year (with four weeks annual leave included). The successful candidate will be required to plan and deliver Sociology for this young person who is completing their A-levels.

Sociology Tutor details

Hours: 6 - 8 hours per week

Start Date: September 2025 (term time only)

Pay: £30 per hour - face to face tutoring

Responsibilities
  • Provide one-to-one tuition for sociology (face-to-face).
  • Plan and deliver personalised lessons tailored to the student’s individual needs, interests, and learning style.
  • Adapt resources to suit the student and build a trusting relationship that encourages engagement.
  • Print lessons prior to the sessions.
  • Assess and monitor progress, providing feedback as appropriate.
  • Collaborate with parents/guardians and manage behaviour while providing emotional support.
  • Remain patient and adapt learning materials suitable for the student’s needs.
  • Foster open communication and support transitions; develop academic and life skills.
  • Location: Kensington and Chelsea.
Requirements
  • Experience in SEN, tutoring, or teaching (particularly with autism).
  • Good understanding of the subject and how to teach it.
  • QTS or equivalent
  • Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one).
