Job Overview

Following recent service developments, we are delighted to offer exciting Social Work opportunities within our developing countywide Learning Disability Team in Northumberland.

Contract & Working Hours
  • Full‑time permanent contract (37hrs per week).
  • Salary: £39,862 - £44,075 (dependent on experience) with annual increments.
  • Based at Eddie Feguson House, Blyth. Flexible working options available, including hybrid work from alternative local bases around the County; flexi scheme to maintain work‑life balance.
Role Responsibilities
  • Conduct care and support needs assessments, care planning and reviews.
  • Complete Care Act and Mental Capacity assessments.
  • Work closely with individuals, families, carers to create tailored care plans.
  • Collaborate with internal and external statutory, private, charitable, and voluntary stakeholders to provide appropriate support and resources.
  • Manage caseload autonomously with guidance from Advanced Social Work Practitioners and your Team Manager.
Professional Development

Support from the Adult Social Care training team, workshops, structured pathways, and specialist accredited training such as Approved Mental Health Professional and Practice Educators qualifications.

Qualifications & Requirements
  • Degree in Social Work & registered with Social Work England.
  • Successfully completed the UK Skills for Care ASYE programme.
  • Experience of social work with adults, including working within adult social care teams with a primary need for learning disability.
  • Valid UK driving licence and ability to use a car for work purposes.
