Job Purpose: An opportunity as a personal assistant has become available to provide social support to an 18-year-old man, who is best described as an old soul living in a young body, with building confidence so he can explore his local community and get involved with activities that he enjoys.
Location: Thurlton, NR14
Details:
- Support with exploring the community to help build confidence, as this is the area of support that he needs and struggles with busy places.
- Support with building social skills and social awareness.
- Enjoys going for walks.
- Enjoys sports activities such as paddle boarding, climbing at advance levels, going to the gym, weightlifting. But does not wish to get involved with activities that involves groups of people.
- Likes music such as Bob Dylan and older artists.
Person specification:
- Active and into sports.
- Proactive.
- Able to make decisions, as he is not always able to.
- Similar interests (music and sports).
- Outgoing.
- Good listening skills - Creating a safe space for him to talk.
- Get up and go attitude.

Summary terms and conditions:
- Rate of pay: £12.38ph.
- Hours and times of work: Up to 9 hours during the week on either a Monday or Friday. Then either a Saturday or Sunday over the weekend. Other days would become available when he is not at college (outside term time).
- Other duties will be discussed if/when deemed appropriate but everything that will be expected will be explained prior to acceptance of the position.
- Annual holiday entitlement for this position will be equivalent to the work I would normally expect to be done during 5.6 consecutive weeks.
- Access to free training for employed workers.
- If this job requires; Manual Handling, Handling of hazardous chemicals and/or Food Handling you will be required undertake annual training.
- A satisfactory enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check, the cost of which will be covered by the employer.
- Satisfactory references from two referees, one of which must be your current or last employer.
- Completion of a satisfactory probationary period of 6 months.
