Job description
Overview

Your primary purpose as Social Media Executive is to support development and delivery of social media content across the British Business Bank group of companies, including British Business Bank, British Business Investments, British Patient Capital and the Start Up Loans Company (SUL), ensuring messaging and visual content is clear, engaging, represents best practice and supports overall business objectives. You will be part of the award-winning Communications team whose role is to establish the Bank as a centre of expertise on smaller business finance in the UK, providing advice and support to government; and to encourage and enable smaller businesses to seek the finance best suited to their needs.

As a high-profile, prestigious organisation at the forefront of the government\'s efforts to provide information about the finance options available to smaller businesses, effective messaging and community management on social media is vitally important for the British Business Bank, especially during the Coronavirus pandemic and period of recovery. High-quality, informative and engaging social media content helps enhance the organisation\'s reputation with its stakeholders and smaller businesses. The role provides an exciting opportunity to develop your social media expertise in a fast-paced, innovation-driven and constantly developing environment and the chance to be involved with the business response to a national crisis.

Responsibilities
  • Develop day-to-day social media content to post across the Bank\'s social media estate to raise the profile and awareness of the Bank\'s four businesses to support its strategic objectives.
  • Write channel-specific content and brief designers to create supporting creative assets, often at short notice.
  • Provide effective and timely community management while supporting the Social Media and Content Manager with day-to-day management of social media activities (such as end-of-month reporting and analysis) and help with delivery of campaigns.
  • Establish good working relations with key stakeholders and third parties such as our social media agency, in-house and external design teams and digital teams.
Qualifications
  • Experience in social media gained either in-house (private or public sector) or in an agency, working on building the reputation of a company or brand via social media in a busy communications or marketing environment.
  • Strong copy writing skills and the ability to translate complex language into simple and punchy captions.
  • Keen creative eye, high attention to accuracy and detail, and knowledge of the latest developments and trends in social media and digital.
  • Experience in graphic design, photography and videography would be beneficial but not essential.
