A long-established, family-run agricultural and land-services business based in Hertfordshire is seeking an experienced Tractor Driver / Machinery Operator. The company operates across agriculture, arboriculture and fencing, providing high-quality, reliable services to farms and landowners.

Role Summary

This role involves a mix of agricultural and land-based machinery work, with a strong focus on tractor operations throughout the summer period. The successful candidate will operate a variety of equipment including tractors, mini diggers and chainsaws, and assist with wider groundworks and land-management tasks.

Key Responsibilities

• Operating tractors for seasonal fieldwork (peak summer workload)
• Safe and competent use of mini diggers
• Chainsaw operations (where qualified)
• Supporting general agricultural, arboricultural and fencing activities
• Routine machinery checks, basic maintenance, greasing and cleaning
• Working safely and efficiently as part of a small team
• Assisting with groundworks and site preparation

Requirements

• Competent tractor driver with relevant experience
• Skilled operator of mini diggers
• Chainsaw competence (NPTC certification preferred)
• Practical understanding of machinery maintenance
• Able to work outdoors in all weather
• Positive attitude and reliability
• Full UK driving licence desirable

Desirable

• Experience in fencing, groundworks or arboriculture
• Telehandler certificate
• Additional machinery tickets (excavator, dumper, chipper etc.)
