Job summary

A construction contractor is seeking an experienced Site Manager based in the UK to lead site delivery and ensure excellence in project execution. This role involves managing daily site operations, overseeing subcontractors, and ensuring compliance with health and safety standards. Successful candidates should possess strong leadership skills, relevant site management certifications, and a driving license. The position promises a dynamic working environment within the commercial, residential, and industrial sectors.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Site Manager or Assistant Site Manager within construction.
• Experience across a range of sectors is desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Manage and supervise daily site operations from mobilisation to completion.
• Oversee subcontractors and site teams to ensure safe, efficient, productive working practices.
• Implement construction programmes and monitor progress against key milestones.
• Ensure full compliance with health, safety, environmental, and welfare standards.
• Conduct regular site inspections and risk assessments.
• Act as the main point of contact for clients and supply chain partners.
• Monitor site expenditure and assist with forecasts.
• Prepare daily site reports and support project close-out activities.

Skills

Strong leadership, planning, and organisational skills

Proactive problem solver with excellent communication skills

Able to motivate teams and maintain high standards

Competent in construction software and technology (MS Office / reporting tools)

Education

CSCS or equivalent Site Management Safety Training Scheme certification

SMSTS or willingness to obtain

Construction-related qualification (HNC/HND or degree)

Driving licence
