Job Title: Site Maintenance Person
Location: Vera James House, Ely, CB6 1TA
Contract Type: Full-Time – 37.5 hours per week

Salary: £28,000 – £30,000 per annum (depending on experience), call out at 1.5 x pro rata hourly rate

Monday to Friday, potential call-out for emergencies.

Situated in the heart of Ely, Vera James House is a 42-bed care home providing residential, dementia, respite, and end-of-life care. We are currently looking for a full-time Site Maintenance Person to join our team and help maintain a safe, functional, and welcoming environment for our residents and staff.

Your Role as Site Maintenance Person

As a Maintenance Person at Glenholme, you’ll be responsible for ensuring that the home remains in excellent working order inside and out. Your duties will include:

  • Performing regular weekly compliance checks (fire alarms, emergency lighting, water testing, etc.)
  • Carrying out general repairs, including basic plumbing, electrical, painting, and carpentry tasks
  • Maintaining the grounds, garden areas, and external appearance of the home
  • Managing maintenance stock and ensuring safety records are up to date
  • Liaising with the Estates Manager and Home Manager for ongoing maintenance needs
  • Occasionally supporting other local sites with maintenance work when required
  • Being on-call for occasional facilities-related out-of-hours emergencies
