Job summary

A leading civil engineering firm in the United Kingdom is seeking an experienced Site Engineer to support major highways and civil engineering projects. You will ensure compliance with design standards and quality processes while coordinating with site teams and subcontractors. Essential skills include a strong background in QA for civil engineering, familiarity with National Highways specifications, and proficiency in managing QA documentation on large infrastructure projects. A CSCS card is required for this position.

Qualifications

• Experience managing QA documentation on large infrastructure projects.
• Conduct inspections and spot checks to validate quality compliance.
• Verify compliance with design drawings, specifications, and workmanship standards.

Responsibilities

• Compile and maintain QA documentation including Inspection & Test Plans.

Site Engineer

About the Role: We are looking for an experienced Site Engineer to support major highways and civil engineering projects. You will ensure compliance with design standards and quality processes while coordinating with site teams and subcontractors.

Key Responsibilities

• Compile and maintain QA documentation, including Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), check sheets, and material certifications.
• Verify compliance with design drawings, specifications, and workmanship standards.
• Liaise with site teams and subcontractors to ensure timely submission of QA records.
• Conduct inspections and spot checks to validate quality compliance.
• Manage non-conformance reports (NCRs) and corrective actions.
• Prepare QA documentation for handover and audits.

Skills & Experience

• Background in highways or civil engineering QA (earthworks, drainage, structures, surfacing).
• Familiarity with National Highways specifications (SHW, IAN, DMRB).
• Experience managing QA documentation on large infrastructure projects.
• Strong attention to detail and proficiency with MS Office and document management systems.
• CSCS card (minimum Skilled Worker).

Desirable

• HNC/HND or Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• Knowledge of smart motorway standards and major highways schemes.
