Overview

Abatec is pleased to be working with one of the UK's most reputable civil engineering companies to help recruit a Site Agent, to work on a marine and tunnelling project related to Hinkley Point C. Based out of Avonmouth Docks, the successful candidate will spend periods of time offshore on the barge (shift patterns to be confirmed but likely to be 14 / 7 rotation). The project is extremely interesting and easily classed as major civil engineering.

Essential certification

ESSENTIAL CERTIFICATION - GWO - Sea Survival + Ladder Transfer and GWO - Medical

Responsibilities
  • Support offshore HSE practices through daily briefings, safety tours, and permit management
  • Coordinate marine construction activities to meet technical and schedule requirements including lifting, grouting and vessel coordination
  • Track site performance, maintain work plans, and report on progress
  • Act as a key offshore interface with vessel crews, support teams, and stakeholders
  • Support risk and issue management to maintain safe and effective delivery
What the client is looking for
  • Has GWO - Sea Survival + Ladder Transfer
  • Has GWO - Medical
  • Has proven experience in offshore or marine civil engineering or related fields
  • Has strong understanding of safe systems of work in offshore environments
  • Has flexibility in working hours and offshore deployment
  • Has previous experience managing subcontractors (not essential)
Rates / Benefits
  • Standard Monday - Friday shift pattern with overtime available.
  • £580-£625 per shift (PAYE Umbrella) - This provides a take-home of between £1480 to £1550 per week based on a standard tax code
  • Long term, interesting project in the local region
