Job description
Overview

We have an opportunity in Beddington for a Shift Technician to join our team working 40 hours per week, Monday to Sunday shift pattern, to include nights. The Shift Technician is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the plant from within a central control room and out in the field, on a 24-hour shift rotation. Working as part of a team, your duties will include plant and equipment process changes to optimise process performance, as well as process and equipment fault diagnosis and rectification along with system isolations. You'll take responsibility for DCS operation and alarm handling, as well as the operation of the ERF and boiler chemistry. When updating the shift log, the Shift Technician will include plant and process changes, and ensure a diligent shift handover takes place so the following shift is well-informed. Continuous and routine monitoring of the plant must also be undertaken to minimise environmental impacts. A key element of this role is continuous personal development in order to unlock your career potential, along with a flexible approach to ensure vital work is achieved timely and accurately.

Responsibilities
  • An understanding of safe systems of work, i.e. plant isolations.
  • The ability to think logically and solve problems in an efficient way.
  • A Safety qualification, preferably IOSH or NEBOSH.
  • Mechanical, electrical or process plant experience.
  • The ability to attain the level of an Authorised Person is also desirable.

Salary

The salary for this role will be circa £50,000 per year, inclusive of shift allowance and participation in an annual bonus scheme, in addition to our great range of benefits.
