Overview

Shift Manager • Salary: Competitive • Hours: 40 hours per week • Location: Allington Energy from Waste Facility, ME16 0LE

As a Shift Manager at FCC Environment, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the Allington Energy from Waste Facility. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will oversee the daily activities of the operational team, ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards. You will also drive operational improvements, coordinate with maintenance and support teams, and ensure performance targets are met.

This is a full-time role, working five days per week.

What Will You Be Doing?

• Overseeing the health, safety, and wellbeing of staff, contractors, and visitors
• Managing and supervising the daily operations of the facility
• Ensuring compliance with FCC Environment policies, safety regulations, and environmental standards
• Leading a team of six direct reports and driving performance improvements
• Supporting operational improvements and plant maintenance co-ordination
• Managing contractor activities and ensuring work is carried out safely
• Leading workplace investigations and root cause analysis for operational incidents
• Supporting recruitment, training, and development of the shift team
• Acting as Incident Controller during emergency situations
• Ensuring effective communication between departments to maintain efficiency
