Qualifications

Responsibilities

Overview

Job Title: Shift Leader

Location: Paddington

Basic Salary: £54,590 + 10% Shift Allowance

Shift Pattern: Continental

Alice Rose Recruitment is currently recruiting for an experienced Shift Leader (Electrical or Mechanical bias) to join one of the UK's largest property services providers. This role is based at one of Paddington's most prestigious mixed-use properties, where you will lead a small team of engineers on a continental shift pattern.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the shift team, ensuring all PPM and reactive maintenance tasks are completed in line with client requirements.
  • Respond quickly and effectively to plant faults and defects to maintain continuous operation.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records relating to Health & Safety, compliance, and quality assurance.
  • Manage and oversee sub-contractors, including issuing permits, approving works, and monitoring safe practices.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships through professional service delivery.
  • Allocate tasks to shift engineers and ensure timely completion.
  • Conduct annual appraisals for shift engineers, identifying training needs and implementing development plans.
  • Ensure the team remains suitably skilled and trained to meet operational requirements.
Requirements
  • City & Guilds Level 2 & 3 in Electrical or Mechanical discipline.
  • High Voltage certification (desirable).
  • Proven track record in building maintenance, ideally within commercial sites such as banks, corporate offices, or high-end hotels.
  • Strong knowledge of UPS, generators, power distribution, HVAC, HV/LV systems, and associated plant.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and management skills.
  • Experience working under safe systems of work procedures, including PTW and RAMS
