Overview

SHE (Safety Health and Environmental) Officer – 1st shift (7:30‑4:00 pm) or 2nd shift (8:00‑4:30 pm). Excellent benefits and production bonus. Supporting a local manufacturing facility to ensure business operates in full compliance with national and international law and regulations that pertain to the business needs. The role also supports other departments with the collection of appropriate compliance data.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and improve the SHE management system in compliance with environmental legislation, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001, safety codes of practice and other compliance requirements.
  • Monitor SHE/Compliance & Risk strategies, policies and programs that promote sustainable development.
  • Liaise with regulatory bodies / internal and external business customers, ensuring all key performance measures and objectives are achieved in regard to SHE/Compliance and Risk.
  • Lead and support all aspects of the business in its adoption and conformance to all SHE legislation and policies, statements and procedures.
  • Keep the management team up to date on emerging compliance requirements.
  • Coordinate SHE systems for control of pollution, waste management, recycling, conservation and energy efficiency.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of SHE/Compliance operational risks, recommend changes where appropriate and ensure that potentially hazardous practices are brought to the attention of management.
  • Advise Management on all legal and other requirements relating to SHE/Compliance legislation in the workplace.
  • Monitor investigation of accidents and review accident statistics with management so that corrective action may be applied and assessed for health, safety and the environment.
  • Produce educational resources and coordinate SHE/Compliance training.
Qualifications
  • A strong communicator.
  • Someone who enjoys taking responsibility and is keen to take on additional training to enhance their SHE experience.
  • Advanced computer skills.
  • Basic work experience gained within SHE, or an interest in SHE.
  • May suit a recent graduate with a business‑related degree.
