Position Details

Position: Service & Stock Controller

Location: Gloucester

Salary: £33,000

Shift: Monday-Friday 8:30am-5:00pm

Contract: Permanent

Responsibilities

Play a key role in supporting critical Civilian and Military service operations, coordinating Field Service Engineers, managing service schedules, handling breakdown requests, and ensuring all documentation and system entries are accurate and up to date.

Oversee goods in/out for Gloucester stores, booking stock into the system, and ensuring accurate parts allocation for jobs.

Day‑to‑day duties include taking customer repair calls, logging notifications, allocating engineers, managing planned and reactive work, tracking job progress, and keeping customers updated.

Reschedule workloads based on priority, monitor engineer documentation, maintain clear admin, and help keep KPIs such as overdue services, WIP, safety defects, and aged jobs on target.

Close collaboration with the Service Manager and other departments is essential, as is providing reliable data and clear communication to customers and colleagues.

Qualifications & Skills
  • Experience in a similar role (vehicle maintenance and repair) – essential; knowledge of the HGV sector is a bonus.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Excellent communication and planning skills, strong attention to detail, confidence to make decisions under pressure.
  • Self‑motivated, adaptable, customer‑focused, able to troubleshoot and suggest improvements.
  • Willingness to learn, support the team, and develop your professional skills.
