Qualifications

  • Willingness to travel across North UK and stay away as necessary.

Job description

Service Engineer / Electrical Engineer / UPS Engineer required to join a leading global electrical engineering manufacturer.

The successful Service Engineer / Electrical Engineer / UPS Engineer shall be field based responsible for maintaining, servicing, troubleshooting and commissioning uninterruptible power supply (UPS systems) to ensure their reliable operation and to provide technical guidance on power requirements and UPS solutions at commercial / industrial sites and data centres across North UK- Leeds up to Scotland.

The Service Engineer / Electrical Engineer / UPS Engineer must have proven, hands‑on experience working with UPS systems within critical power environments, alongside strong knowledge of electrical engineering products such as power controls, electrical distribution, rectifiers, battery systems, AC/DC systems or similar. Full product training provided.

Service Engineer / Electrical Engineer / UPS Engineer Role
  • Conduct preventative maintenance, servicing, fault finding, and commissioning of UPS system and associated products including battery systems, power electronics, and critical power equipment.
  • Install, repair, and service uninterruptiblepower systems at various commercial and industrial sites and data centres across North UK- Leeds up to Scotland.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on existing UPS installations.
  • Perform routine service and repairs on UPS systems, including component replacements and system reconfigurations as necessary.
  • Collaborate closely with clients to understand their power requirements, provide technical guidance, and recommend appropriate UPS solution.
  • Liaise with different engineering departments.
  • Fully remote role covering North UK- Leeds up to Scotland with staying away when required.
Requirements
  • Prior experience as a Service Engineer, Electrical Engineer, UPS Engineer, Generator Engineer, Field Service Engineer, Service Technician, or similar within electrical engineering.
  • Technical Proficiency in electrical and electronic engineering principles, including a strong understanding of power electronics, three-phase voltage systems, battery management, and related components.
  • Flexibility for overtime and participation in on-call rotation.
  • Experience on Uninterruptible Power Supples (UPS Systems).
  • Eagerness to learn and grow within a reputable electrical manufacturing company.
  • Recognised electrical engineering qualification or degree is advantageous.
  • UK driving license and willingness to cover regions and stay away across North UK- Leeds up to Scotland.
