Our client is one of Europe’s leading forklift suppliers, operating from a busy site in Basingstoke. Each year, they prepare and sell around 1,000 forklifts to customers across the UK and internationally. With a fast‑paced and growing operation, they are now seeking an experienced Service & Parts Manager to lead their field service team and oversee the flow of spare parts across the business.

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and hands‑on manager with a strong background in service operations, team leadership, and parts management to join a respected company at the forefront of the materials handling industry.

As the Service & Parts Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient running of both the Service and Parts departments. You will manage a small but busy team, balancing operational oversight with customer service, supplier coordination, and technical support.

This role requires a proactive leader with excellent organisational skills and the ability to drive performance, maintain safety standards, and deliver exceptional customer satisfaction.

Job Overview

Oversee the daily operations of the Service Department, including scheduling, job reviews, engineer support, and training coordination.

Manage the Parts Department, streamlining processes and ensuring efficient stock control.

Maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and dealers, ensuring a high standard of service and communication.

Provide technical support to engineers and customers via phone, email, and digital platforms.

Assist with warranty claims, ensuring documentation and processes are completed correctly.

Coordinate with transport, operations, and subcontractors to plan installations and deliveries.

Support the rollout and development of new systems, including ERP software.

Step in to cover other management duties when required.

Job Requirements

Proven background in service or parts management, ideally within forklifts, plant, or heavy equipment.

Strong leadership and team management skills.

Excellent organisational and communication abilities.

Technical knowledge of forklifts or similar machinery (desirable).

Confident working with both customers and suppliers at all levels.

Salary & Benefits

Salary : £35,000 – £45,000 per annum (DOE)

Hours : Full‑time, permanent
