Job summary

A leading underwriting company in the United Kingdom is seeking an experienced underwriter to manage commercial underwriting for property and casualty insurance. The role involves business negotiation with brokers and partners, providing onsite support, and coaching colleagues. The ideal candidate should have proven underwriting experience, strong relationship management skills, and IT proficiency. This is a full-time position requiring excellent communication abilities and sound decision-making skills.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience within commercial underwriting across property and casualty.
  • Strong market, industry, and product knowledge.
  • Excellent verbal communication and relationship management skills.
  • Confident decision-maker with sound judgement and negotiation ability.

  • Experience coaching or mentoring within a commercial environment.

  • Analyse and act on audit results to improve performance.

  • Maintain up-to-date technical knowledge and complete CPD requirements.
  • Operate within the regulatory framework, identifying and escalating risks or complaints appropriately.
