Job Overview

The ICT Department are seeking to fill a vacancy for a friendly, enthusiastic and knowledgeable Senior System Administrator with excellent customer service and project management skills.

This role will be responsible for the development of new functionality within existing systems, implementation of new systems and support/maintenance/configuration and fault finding of the Trusts patient information systems. They will need to liaise with 3rd Party Suppliers to resolve some incidents, develop resolution and process documentation. They will regularly floor walk at Trust sites to assist colleagues with their understanding of systems and coordinate planned system downtime and lead on all other team projects as required.

Responsibilities
  • Understanding and interpreting complex issues through to resolution
  • To advise on the development of new information systems
  • Lead the information systems Change Advisory Board
  • Produce and maintain team documentation such as user and process guides
  • Maintain the data quality of the Trusts clinical systems
  • Lead on relevant projects, planned system downtime and system upgrades
Qualifications
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • A high level of computer literacy on software packages such as Excel, Word and SQL
  • Knowledge of specific systems such as RiO, eReferrals, Care Identity Management, Registration Authority (RA)
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • At least 4 years NHS experience
  • Flexibility to work at short notice from various Trust sites when required as well as remotely

  • To project coordinate system upgrades and planned system downtime with 3rd party suppliers. Managing a team of testers in the department as well as other staff in other relevant departments.
  • Act as 2nd line support for the system admin team, dealing with and resolving the more complex issues that arise with the clinical systems.
  • Triaging calls that come to the Change Advisory Board and either dealing with them or re-assigning as appropriate.
