This is an excellent opportunity to join my client, a highly-respected, industry-leading multidisciplinary consultancy, offering expert design services to a number of high-profile projects across the civil, structural, and geotechnical landscapes. My client is on the lookout for an experienced, enthusiastic Senior Structural Engineer, capable of leading a growing team of specialist colleagues in the structural design of commercial, industrial, health, leisure, retail, and residential projects near to Wakefield and further afield.

Responsibilities for the role of Senior Structural Engineer include:

  • Designing structures across a range of sectors, including commercial, industrial, and residential
  • Leading and delivering high-profile projects from initial inception through to successful delivery
  • Building, maintaining, and managing stakeholder relations within the public and private sectors
  • Representing the company at design team meetings and site visits

Required skills and experience for the role of Senior Structural Engineer include:

  • Hold a Degree (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering (or a related field)
  • Possess Chartered Structural Engineer (MIStructE) status, or actively working at attain this
  • Demonstrable relevant, UK-based experience within a consultancy setting
  • Experience of working with new-build projects, including good working knowledge of foundation and retaining wall design.
  • Excellent working knowledge of all structural materials and their relevant uses
  • Proficiency in preparing calculation packages
  • Demonstrable competency in the use of TEKLA, TEDDS, and AutoCAD
  • Extensive experience in the preparation of structural engineering inspection reports for a variety of building types/structures
  • Good understanding of the relevant technical standards, including Eurocodes
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience of liaising with a range of stakeholders across the public and private sectors
  • Possess a sound knowledge of construction methods, health and safety protocols, legal regulations, etc.
  • Hold a full, valid UK driving licence

Desirable skills and experience for the role of Senior Structural Engineer include:

  • Previous experience in roads and sewer design
  • Good working knowledge of Revit
