Title: Senior Shift Technician (Energy-to-Waste)

Location: Croydon, South London

Shifts: Days & Night Shifts, Rotating Shifts

The Company

Join an ethical, sector-leading national energy recovery company with over 300 sites. We are seeking an experienced Plant Technician with a background in an industrial environment (e.g., manufacturing, power, waste, renewables, steel, concrete).

This is a full-time, permanent role offering great investment in employee well-being and long-term career growth within a major trend-setter for renewable energy and recycling. You will be expected to ensure plant reliability and uphold high operational standards.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure plant reliability and uphold high operational standards.
  • Work from a control room in a heavy duty, industrial environment with understanding of mechanical and electrical faults on site equipment; identify and contain hazards before they occur.
  • Document all observations on site in accordance with Health & Safety, Quality and Environmental Management System and all relevant legislation.
  • Comply with PPE requirements including COSHH chemical handling; carry out frequent risk assessments and report potential safety issues; control hazards as required.
Qualifications / Requirements
  • Several years experience as a technician/plant operator within an industrial site.
  • Proactive and the ability to fault find independently.
  • A basic mechanical, electrical, engineering, and site operations understanding.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to manage the site's safety.
