Senior RF Design Engineer – Permanent – UK

An exciting opportunity has become available for a Senior RF Engineer to join our UK-based customer. You will work on multiple high-tech projects delivering RF and Microwave solutions into the space and military sectors. You will be part of intimate project teams and will assist in developing and testing the next generation of active and passive RF products.

Responsibilities
  • Support the RF Engineering team in problem solving and solution evaluation
  • Design and develop innovative, reliable solutions
  • Test, measure, debug, and verify RF systems
  • Perform simulation and analysis
  • Present technical issues at design reviews
  • Prepare design and test documentation
  • Provide technical assistance to production
  • Collaborate with Mechanical Engineers, Project Engineers, and Engineering team leaders
  • Ensure technical project deliverables are completed on time, within requirements, and maintain quality standards
  • Participate in proposal activities
  • Willingness to occasionally travel within UK/Europe for training and project meetings
Qualifications/Experience
  • Degree in a field covering Radio Frequency or Microwave Technology
  • Extensive experience in RF circuit design
  • Strong knowledge of active and passive RF components such as RF power amplifiers, modulators, filters, and couplers
  • Experience with subsystem design including receivers, transceivers, and upconverters
  • Proficiency with tools like NI AWR microwave circuit simulator and 3D EM simulation software such as CST or HFSS
  • Previous experience in the space or defense sectors
  • Knowledge of design to cost and design for manufacture is advantageous
  • Digital design experience or FPGA development knowledge is desirable but not essential
