Job summary

A family-owned residential care provider based in Nottinghamshire seeks a Senior Support Worker for its children’s residential home. This role involves providing therapeutic care for children aged 8–14 and promoting their emotional well-being and personal development. The ideal candidate will have at least one year of experience in residential childcare and hold or be willing to pursue a Level 3 QCF in Residential Childcare. Senior Support Worker – Children’s Residential Home (Bingham NG13, Nottinghamshire)

Job Types : Full-time, Permanent

Salary : £14 p / h without NVQ lvl 3 or £14.50 with NVQ level 3 completed + £70 per sleep

The client is a small, family‑owned residential care provider based in Nottinghamshire, operating nine children’s homes. Recently rated ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted, the client offers a nurturing and therapeutic environment for children aged 5–17 with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD).

We are currently seeking a Senior Support Worker to join a dedicated team at an established home where four children reside. We’re looking for an individual who can act as a therapeutic parent—providing high levels of care, support, and stability to help children achieve outstanding outcomes.

About the Role
  • Provide therapeutic care for children aged 8–14.

Essential Skills & Experience
  • Minimum 1 year’s experience in residential childcare.
  • Level 3 QCF in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) – or willingness to work toward it.
  • Experience with EBD and trauma‑informed approaches (PACE / DDP desirable).
  • Strong communication and literacy skills.
Training & Development
  • Full training provided, 2‑week induction and also includes QCF Level 4 and Level 5 qualifications.
  • Career progression opportunities to Deputy Manager / Manager roles.
  • 1 : 1 supervision and group sessions with the home’s therapist.
