Overview

We are seeking to appoint a suitably qualified, ambitious and motivated Rotational Senior Radiographer (Band 6) for Core Services Plain X-ray, CT and possible rotation to MRI. This position will be based at St. Bartholomew’s Hospital in the heart of the City of London – St. Paul’s. Join our friendly and supportive team of Radiographers, where continuous professional development is encouraged. You will be exposed to a wealth of knowledge and experience guided by our expert clinical leads, with opportunities to use your initiative and expand your skills and experience.

This is an exciting opportunity to join Europe’s largest specialised cardiovascular centre. The hospital includes the site of the new state-of-the-art Barts Heart Centre. The post holder will work closely with Clinical, Radiographic and managerial teams to provide high quality imaging services across General and A&E x-ray, fluoroscopy, theatres and CT, with the possibility of rotation to MRI.

The service operates 24 hours a day, 365 days per year. Barts Health is one of the largest NHS trusts in the country and a leading healthcare provider.

Responsibilities
  • Provide high quality, effective imaging services to a wide range of services supported by Imaging, including General and A&E x-ray, fluoroscopy, theatres and CT.
  • Possibly rotate to MRI as required.
  • Work closely with Radiographers, students and clinical staff of all grades to provide safe, prompt and effective imaging of patients.
  • Demonstrate leadership and clinical supervision skills; support and supervise junior staff as required.
  • Engage with ongoing professional development guided by clinical leads.
  • Deliver empathetic care to patients, including those who are unconscious, uncooperative or experiencing distress, and provide emotional support when needed.
Qualifications
  • BSc in Diagnostic Radiography or the Diploma of the College of Radiographers.
  • HCPC registration is required.
