Job summary

A leading recruitment agency is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor in Kent. The candidate will manage projects from pre-construction to delivery, ensuring cost control and contractual compliance. Applicants must have HNC/HND in Surveying and experience with regional/national contractors. Strong mathematical, negotiating, and communication skills are essential for this role.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as SQS with a Regional/National contractor.
  • Good understanding of building regulations and legal obligations.
  • Knowledge of construction methods and materials.

Responsibilities

Role and Location

Role: Senior Quantity Surveyor

Location: Kent

Contract Type: Full Time, Permanent

Salary & Package: Very Competitive

Responsibilities
  • Exposure to the full project lifecycle with involvement across pre-construction through to project delivery
  • Working alongside the project delivery team, to ensure the contractual control and cost management of projects across different sectors
  • Managing the commercial aspects of subcontract accounts from procurement to interim and final account agreement
  • Being involved with the final account negotiation to ensure the best possible outcome
Requirements
  • HNC / HND in Surveying or equivalent
  • Proven experience as the SQS with a Regional / National contractor
  • A good understanding of building regulations and legal obligations
  • A good knowledge of construction methods and materials
  • Strong mathematical and IT ability
  • Negotiating and networking skills
  • Excellent communications skills
  • Good team working skills
