Salary dependant on experience, ranging from £35k to £45k upwards.

Product Developer

Location: Central Manchester

Type: Full-Time, Office Based

Our client is a fast-growing, multi-branded business. Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Product Developer with a minimum of 4+ years of experience. In this role, you will collaborate closely with Designers, Merchandisers, and the GT team to translate design concepts into commercially viable products, aligned with the brand’s aesthetic and market position.

Your responsibilities will include:

  1. Taking initial handover sheets from the design team and building clear, accurate technical specification packs for each product.
  2. Sourcing fabrics, trims, and components that meet quality and cost objectives.
  3. Providing clear, accurate information throughout the process to ensure that salesman samples and bulk production reflect the desired brand quality, performance, fit, and values.
  4. Working closely with the Garment Technologist on fit sessions, reviewing samples, and communicating changes to factories and suppliers.
  5. Liaising with overseas and local suppliers, factories, and agents to track progress and resolve development issues.
  6. Ensuring all products comply with size standards, garment construction, labelling, and quality requirements.
  7. Partnering with merchandisers, designers, and production teams to align on pricing and margin goals.
  8. Managing and creating critical paths and sample timelines to ensure a clear development process.
  9. Analyzing costs, guiding teams to understand fabric usage, packaging costs, and profit margins.
  10. Leading negotiations with suppliers to meet cost targets.
  11. Collaborating with the Sourcing Manager to onboard new suppliers and products, ensuring clarity and understanding.
  12. Providing advice on potential savings opportunities.
