AI-Powered Learning and Teaching Tools :

As a Senior Product Designer at Preply, your mission is to harness the transformative potential of AI to create innovative learning tools that cater to individual needs and preferences. You\'ll collaborate with product managers, education experts, and data scientists to develop mobile-first personalized learning solutions powered by natural language processing. Beyond making the experience effective, you will ensure a high level of engagement by using proven and relevant gamification elements. Through iterative design improvements and continuous feedback loops, you\'ll revolutionize the learning experience, making it faster, more effective, and enjoyable for learners and tutors worldwide.

What you’ll be doing :

  • Work closely with the product and engineering teams to understand the needs and pain points of learners and tutors in their learning journeys.
  • Leverage GenAI technologies to design learning tools that cater to specific learning objectives, making the learning process more efficient and effective.
  • Utilize motivation hooks and gamification tactics to ensure learners are engaged and excited about the ongoing experience.
  • Conduct user research and gather insights to inform the design process, ensuring that the AI-powered tools meet the diverse needs of learners and tutors.
  • Prototype and iterate on design solutions based on feedback from users and stakeholders, continuously improving the usability and effectiveness of the learning tools.
  • Collaborate with the engineering team to ensure seamless integration of AI functionalities into the learning tools, maintaining a balance between innovation and practicality.
  • Develop intuitive user interfaces and experiences that leverage AI capabilities to personalize learning experiences and adapt to individual learning styles.
  • Contribute to the evolution of Preply\'s Design System by incorporating AI-specific design patterns and guidelines, ensuring consistency and coherence across the product ecosystem.
  • Actively participate in cross-functional discussions and workshops to share insights, learnings, and best practices related to AI-driven product design.
  • Stay updated on the latest developments in AI technologies and their applications in education, constantly exploring new opportunities to enhance learning experiences through innovation

What you need to succeed :

  • Minimum of 4+ years of professional Product Design experience
  • Experience building consumer-facing, mobile-first products that have ongoing and frequent use… aka habit-forming products
  • Experience in conducting and leading research, and leveraging insights to do excellent product “detective” work.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively present your work and bring key stakeholders on board. You are confident in your ideas but open to learning from others.
  • You have experience handing off work to engineers, the dedication and focus to work alongside them to ensure high quality design on launch.
  • You have the drive to share work early and often, and to foster a mindset of collective ownership and effort. You leave the ego at the door.
  • As a plus, we value any experience working on the “seller side” (e.g. content creators, sellers, advertisers, …) of marketplaces, as well as experience using emotional design to deliver “delightful” experiences
  • A portfolio to help us understand your skills and experience as a designer.
  • Huge plus : Experience in the gaming industry or in heavily gamified products.
  • Huge plus : Personal experience of using GenAI tools in your design workflows
