Role

As a Senior Product and Process Safety Engineer, you’ll be at the forefront of innovation, helping to shape the safe design and operation of marine Cargo Handling Systems and Fuel Gas Systems used in transporting and storing liquefied gases such as LNG, LPG, LCO₂, and emerging alternative fuels. Responsibilities
  • Leading internal and external safety workshops including HAZID, HAZOP, SIL determination and verification.
  • Collaborating with New Product Development and Project teams to prioritise safety activities across global programmes.
  • Managing documentation and ensuring compliance with quality management systems.
  • Coordinating training and development for the safety engineering team.
  • Overseeing direct reports and ensuring delivery of safety outputs to project timelines.

This role is full time and provides hybrid working arrangements with 2 days in the office/onsite and 3 days working from home.

Essential experience
  • Strong familiarity with IEC 61511 and functional safety systems.
  • Proven ability to lead HAZID, HAZOP and LOPA workshops.
  • Excellent communication skills with stakeholders and third parties.
  • Proficient in process engineering software and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong technical and analytical skills in process safety.
Qualifications
  • Degree qualified in Process, Chemical or related Engineering discipline.
  • Extensive experience in Process Safety Engineering.
  • ICHEME-accredited or equivalent training in Hazard Study Leadership and SIL Determination.

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain BPSS security clearance for this role.
