Mechanical Engineer — Full Time | Hybrid + 9-Day Fortnight
West London

We’re recruiting on behalf of a leading UK defence technology organisation, delivering advanced engineering solutions for naval and maritime applications. Their systems support critical missions across allied defence forces, with a focus on innovation, precision, and performance in the most challenging environments.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Mechanical Engineer with experience in complex enclosure design to join a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team working on cutting-edge maritime technology.

The Role
  • Develop mechanical design concepts and feasibility studies for new and existing products
  • Lead the design of complex enclosures used in subsea, naval, and defence applications
  • Work closely with electrical, systems, and manufacturing engineers to deliver integrated solutions
  • Contribute to proposals and R&D initiatives that support future business opportunities
What You’ll Need
  • Degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering
  • Solid experience with 3D CAD tools – ideally Creo and/or AutoCAD Inventor
  • Understanding of manufacturing methods for electrical enclosures (fabrication, machining, castings, welding, coatings)
  • Strong grasp of materials selection and mechanical design under requirements like thermal, EMC, and shock
  • Excellent communication skills and the confidence to present ideas and designs to stakeholders
  • A proactive, self-motivated approach with a willingness to learn and shape future processes
  • Security Clearance: You must be eligible to obtain UK security clearance
