Job summary

A leading construction firm is recruiting for a Senior Planner to work with Energy in Leeds. The role includes preparing resource programs, risk analysis, and managing project documentation. Candidates should have experience in civil engineering, planning software skills, and be located within commutable distance. The project involves significant early works and will support the Great Grid partnership.

Qualifications

• Experience on civil engineering and/or construction projects.
• Desirable experience working on National Grid, Substations, Overhead Lines, HV Plant or HV Cables.
• Must be based within commutable distance of Leeds with travel to sites as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assimilate information and summarise it for communication.
• Prepare a resourced programme and review outcome for conformance.
• Contribute to risk register and undertake programme risk analysis.
• Prepare visual material in support of planned methods.
• Manage project documentation in an orderly fashion.
• Define methods and establish outputs in consultation with the estimator.
• Liaise with the design engineer to establish a design brief.
• Provide the estimator with a justified schedule of temporary works.
• Attend bid review and handover meetings to present work scope.
• Advise project team on required feedback reports and support.

Skills

Civil engineering and construction experience

Use of planning software (P6, Asta, TILOS, QSRA)

Planning techniques for tendering and contract delivery

Understanding of commercial and contractual interfaces
