A healthcare organization in the UK is seeking an enthusiastic pharmacist to join their Pharmacy Training Team in York. This pivotal position focuses on education and training for new pharmacists, while maintaining clinical skills. Applicants should ideally be GPhC registered and near completion of a postgraduate clinical pharmacy qualification. Responsibilities include coordinating training and contributing to core pharmacy service. The organization offers a generous benefits package including NHS pension and professional development opportunities.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic pharmacist with a keen interest in Education and Training to join our Pharmacy Training Team. This is an exciting and pivotal time to join our expanding team as we broaden the scope of our training to support a growing pharmacy workforce.
Working with the Education and Training Team, you will facilitate training for new starters, coordinate training for Foundation Trainee Pharmacists, Junior/Foundation Pharmacists, and support organising educational opportunities for pharmacy staff and other healthcare professionals. You will also maintain your clinical skills by contributing directly to the core pharmacy service including ward and dispensary cover.
The role requires multi‑disciplinary team working, so you must have good communication, interpersonal, organisational and time‑management skills. You must be enthusiastic and passionate about providing good quality patient‑focused care, alongside a passion for nurturing talent and supporting the development of others.
We welcome interest from GPhC registered pharmacists with hospital experience or with a proven track record in education and training. You must hold or be near completion of a postgraduate qualification in clinical pharmacy to Diploma level. Prior experience of working in education and training is not essential; however an interest in training and development of others is crucial.
The post will be based at the York Hospital site but you will work alongside other members of the cross‑site training team. Travel to Scarborough Hospital may be required rarely for group training sessions and other collaborative team activities.
Core service hours are Monday‑Friday 08:45am to 5:15pm. The post includes participation in the weekend, bank holiday and on‑call rotas.
Please note: The interview will be held on 22nd December 2025. This advert closes on Monday 15 Dec 2025.
Across our organisation, people are guided by values that were co‑developed with staff: we are kind; we are open; and we pursue excellence. We welcome applications from everyone, working with our Staff Networks—including Race Equality, LGBTQ+, Disability and Carers Networks—to increase the number of applications from diverse backgrounds.
