Job description

We are recruiting on behalf of a leading financial services organisation for an experienced Senior Payroll Specialist to join their highly collaborative HR function.

This is a stand‑alone payroll role, reporting directly into the Global Head of HR, where you will take full ownership of payroll operations across the company's European footprint, with a primary focus on the UK and Ireland, alongside a small headcount across wider EMEA regions.

The Role

You will be the subject‑matter expert for all payroll‑related activity, ensuring accurate, compliant and timely payroll delivery while acting as the go‑to contact for payroll, benefits and pension queries.

Key responsibilities include:

  • End‑to‑end payroll processing for the UK and Ireland, with oversight of small EMEA payrolls
  • Ownership of year‑end payroll activities, including P60s and P11Ds
  • Acting as the main point of contact for payroll, benefits and pension queries
  • Reconciliation of payroll reports with finance systems
  • Liaison with external payroll providers and internal stakeholders across HR and Finance
  • Ensuring payroll compliance and continuous process improvement
About You
  • Deep, hands‑on knowledge of UK and Irish payroll (essential)
  • Exposure to wider EMEA payroll is highly advantageous
  • Strong experience using Workday HR (essential)
  • Previous experience within financial services is desirable
  • Comfortable operating autonomously in a stand‑alone role
  • A proactive, "go‑getter" mindset with excellent communication skills
  • Highly collaborative and confident working with senior stakeholders
