Contract Opportunity: Senior / Principal Mechanical Engineer - Hybrid (Sellafield Projects)

Rate: £51-£61 per hour (Inside IR35)

Location: Hybrid - 3 days per week in Cumbria office

Sector: Nuclear - Task Delivery Projects

Are you an experienced Mechanical Engineer ready to lead and deliver complex projects for Sellafield? We are seeking a Senior or Principal Mechanical Engineer to provide technical expertise and drive the delivery of task-based projects across the site. This hybrid role combines focused on-site work in Cumbria with the flexibility to work remotely.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver and manage mechanical engineering tasks across multiple project stages
  • Develop and review designs, calculations, and technical documentation
  • Ensure compliance with Sellafield standards, nuclear safety requirements, and site licence conditions
  • Support design reviews, risk assessments, and HAZOP activities
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers, providing technical leadership and assurance
  • Collaborate with multi-discipline teams to achieve project objectives efficiently
What We're Looking For:
  • Proven experience as a Senior or Principal Mechanical Engineer in nuclear or highly regulated environments
  • Strong technical knowledge in mechanical systems, structures, and process equipment
  • Experience delivering task-based projects with attention to schedule and quality
  • Familiarity with Sellafield design processes and standards (advantageous)
  • SC clearance preferred (or ability to obtain)
