A dedicated health service organization in Caerphilly seeks a full-time Occupational Therapist for the Older Adult Mental Health service. The role includes conducting assessments, managing a caseload, and contributing to service development. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full time (37.5 hours) Occupational Therapist to join the Older Adult Mental Health service in ABUHB. The post holder will undertake a specialist mental health Occupational Therapy role working with individuals who access the Memory Assessment Service and Older Adult Community Mental Health Service in Caerphilly.
The post holder will manage a varied and complex caseload identifying, planning and providing highly skilled occupational therapy assessment and intervention for older adult mental health service users under the Older Adult Community Mental Health Service and Memory Service. You will supervise and support OT support workers in the team and will be expected to work towards the development of expertise in an area of clinical excellence. You will be expected to contribute to the maintenance and development of the OT service and also continue with your own professional development.
We are a service that utilises the Model of Human Occupation and you will have the opportunity to deliver specialist interventions such as Home Based Memory Rehabilitation and Discovery Through Activity.
The post holder will work within an MDT maintaining excellent working relationships with the team and also with external agencies. The post is part of a wider network and professional structure of OTs across the mental health and learning disabilities division with regular practice forums and workshop opportunities.
