Overview

This role is with a large manufacturing business who develop and produce Cosmetic, Nutritional, Pharma and Medical Device products for a variety of retailers and brands. The successful candidate will design, develop and prepare nutritional formulations meeting project briefs, ensuring compliance with regulatory and customer requirements. You will need experience of developing products from ideation right through to full scale production. You will have in-depth knowledge of raw material availability & functionality, stability and testing programmes, and keep up to date with nutrition and health trends.

In this role, you will develop nutritional formulations from first principles through to scale-up and subsequent full-scale manufacture. You will work cross-functionally with marketing, operations, quality and other colleagues, as well as working with ingredient suppliers and external contract laboratories. You will liaise with new and existing customers on formulation matters, including innovation and new business opportunities.

Must Have Skills and Experience
  • BSc. in the field of Nutrition and/or Food Science
  • Registered Associate Nutritionist (ANutr) or Registered Nutritionist (RNutr) is desirable
  • 3+ years professional experience
  • Experience of developing products within the manufacturing sector
  • Experience within health and beauty and/or supplements desirable
  • Knowledge of UK food legislation and awareness of European and global regulatory requirements
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety at Work (HASAW) and Good Laboratory Practices (GLP)
  • Ability to work cross-functionally for example internally with sales colleagues and externally with customers e.g. presenting concepts
  • Proven project and people management experience
  • Planning and time management skills, ability to prioritise workload
  • Good communication skills
  • Accurate with good attention to detail
  • Strong IT skills, e.g. advanced understanding of using Microsoft Excel
