Job description: We are recruiting for a thriving nursery looking for an enthusiastic, energetic, and motivational Senior Nursery Practitioner. This is an exciting opportunity to oversee a nursery where we focus on encouraging children to be children, learning through fun and engaging play. You will be working with a dedicated team in a caring, family friendly, characterful, and stimulating environment which is inviting to children, parents, and staff. The Senior Nursery Practitioner is a key member of the early years team and is responsible for delivering high quality care and learning opportunities for children based on their needs and interests.
Responsibilities
- To give support to other personnel within the setting
- To lead a team of professional workers and to ensure good practice at all times
- To implement the daily routine in your base room
- To plan and organise staffing schedules to ensure adequate staffing levels are maintained in accordance with Local Authority guidelines and setting procedures
- Promote positive relationships in the early years setting
- Promote the health, safety and well-being of the children
- Support the development of the children's development learning and play
- Be a key person, carrying out all related responsibilities in building relationships with a small group of children and their families
- Support the children's social, emotional and mental wellbeing reflecting a Trauma Perceptive Practice approach
- Contribute to the effectiveness of team work
- To be a role model and be able to showcase high quality practice with regards to individual and group work with children
- To take responsibility alongside the Nursery Management Team for the safety, security and well-being of all children, staff and visitors at all times
- To ensure that safeguarding procedures are followed in line with the Local Authority and Company procedures
- To embrace, understand and promote Small Wonders and to understand the role you play as part of the team to provide high levels of care and education
- To work alongside the management team to be responsible for Health and Safety Policies and Procedures at nursery

Requirements
- Full and Relevant Level 3 or above Early Years qualification
- Experience within an Early Years leadership role
- Experience of developing high performance teams, with effective regulatory compliance, quality improvement, delivery of high-quality pedagogy, innovation and service excellence
- Confident decision maker, with ability to support change and the understanding of the complex relationship between business/commerce and service excellence within a regulated setting
- Strong knowledge and understanding of Safeguarding, Child Protection, and the wider legislative requirements for working with children
- Ability to build trust and strong working relationships with colleagues, parents and external partners
