Job summary

A global leader in the energy sector is seeking an experienced Network Engineer for their team in Aberdeen. This role involves managing and delivering cutting-edge network solutions across global deployments, including LAN, WAN, and firewall technologies. You will act as the technical point of contact and collaborate closely with project teams to ensure high standards for network infrastructure are met. This position requires travel internationally approximately 60 days per year, making it ideal for a hands-on engineer with a passion for solving complex challenges.

This is an exciting opportunity to work on global network deployments, hardware refreshes, and technical delivery projects, supporting multiple international sites with cutting-edge network solutions.

In this role, you’ll work closely with project teams, IT architects, and support teams to deliver reliable, secure, and scalable network infrastructure. You’ll be a key technical point of contact, providing expertise across LAN, WAN, and firewall technologies, and ensuring projects are delivered to the highest standard.

Responsibilities

• Build, configure, and deliver network solutions to defined specifications
• Support and manage LAN, WAN, and firewall technologies, including Fortigate, Palo Alto, and Cisco
• Act as a 3rd line escalation point for complex issues and outages
• Collaborate with project teams and IT architects to deliver technical solutions aligned with standards
• Test new hardware and solutions, ensuring functionality and reliability
• Produce clear, standardised technical documentation
• Travel internationally to support deployments and project delivery (approx. 60 days per year)
