The Cadillac Formula 1 Team is what happens when history, purpose and daring talent come together. Backed by TWG Global and GM, our team is uniquely positioned to disrupt Formula 1, bringing a fresh perspective and an unrelenting drive for success. We have the energy of a start-up, with the ideas and originality of a business that always wants to lead, never wants to follow.

We're building everything from the ground up, from a high-performance car to an inclusive, values-driven culture. We show bold ambition. We combine leadership in innovation with excellence in execution. We are one team. We have the freedom to think differently, the opportunity to shape process and practice, an ego-free environment where people thrive on being challenged by those around them. A historic name behind us. Career-defining moments ahead.

A New Chapter Begins.

Fueled by bold ambition
Play your part in getting us on the grid.

As a Senior Model Design Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in delivering the physical components that feed our aerodynamic development-the very foundation of on-track performance.

Working at the heart of our Silverstone facility, you'll be part of a highly skilled, ambitious group of engineers focused on technical excellence and relentless innovation. Your work will directly influence car performance in the wind tunnel, translating design into data, and ultimately into lap time.

You'll be trusted with end-to-end ownership of complex design projects, and encouraged to challenge convention, push boundaries, and propose smarter, faster, more efficient ways of working. With a culture that values initiative and creativity, your ideas will not only be heard-they'll be expected.

This is your chance to make a lasting mark on the future of our team, in a high-performance environment where every part counts and every detail matters.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Deliver high-quality, well-validated parts for wind tunnel testing in line with aerodynamic targets
  • Lead complete design projects, including CAD creation, project management, quality checking, and documentation
  • Continuously improve the functionality, quality, and robustness of model parts to optimise wind tunnel test efficiency
  • Drive the development and implementation of improved design workflows and standards
  • Collaborate closely with Aerodynamicists and Surface Design Engineers to ensure alignment with technical specifications
  • Mentor and support junior engineers, contributing to team capability and modelling best practices
  • Ensure adherence to standard design practices and help refine them as needed
  • Occasional travel may be required
Requirements

Driven by high performance

  • Expert-level proficiency in 3D CAD software (preferably 3DExperience/CATIA)
  • Strong understanding of parametric modelling, part robustness, and model layout principles
  • Experience in using FEA for structural validation of parts
  • Solid knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes, including composites and advanced digital manufacturing techniques
  • Deep understanding of GD&T and its application
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills
  • Highly detail-oriented with a commitment to delivering work right the first time
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Enthusiastic contributor to a collaborative, inclusive, and open culture
