A leading engineering consultancy is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join their York team. The role involves specializing in mechanical building services design for rail-related schemes worldwide. Candidates should have experience in a BIM environment and an interest in sustainability. There are not many Senior Mechanical Design Engineer roles like this one, especially in York. To save you reading further, you’ll need to have a building services design background for this role; it isn’t for you if you are an expert in a different field. They need an additional Mechanical Design Engineer or Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team in York. As I said earlier, you’ll be joining the building services design team, so you’ll need to be a specialist in that sector.
You’ll be mainly working on rail related schemes, not just in the UK, they also deliver schemes in Dubai and Europe from York. This means that you’ll have contributed to some of the largest rail projects being built in the world from your home office or their relaxing workplace.
You’ll need to be comfortable with all aspects of mechanical building services design. You’ll also need to be used to working within a BIM environment beyond Revit; as you would imagine this team is at the cutting edge of collaborative working.
