SENIOR MANAGER (Chartered Accountant) - Newry
SALARY: Competitive Salary, Dependent on Experience
EMPLOYMENT: Permanent | Full-time | Flexible | Hybrid (after probation)

My client, a well-established progressive Accountancy Practice located in Newry are currently actively seeking a highly skilled and motivated Fully Qualified Accountant (ACA or ACCA) with a minimum of 5 years post qualified experience.

The ideal candidate will lead and manage a team whilst overseeing a variety of accounting functions and client accounts. You must be able to develop client relationships, maintain a leadership role in relation to staff training and development whilst possessing a high level of expertise in accounting and taxation principles.

Key responsibilities
  • Client Engagement & Support - Foster strong relationships with clients by understanding their business objectives and delivering tailored advice. Respond to queries promptly and professionally to maintain trust and satisfaction.
  • Financial Oversight - Supervise the preparation and review of financial statements for Sole Traders, Partnerships, and Limited Companies, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Deadline & Workflow Management - Take ownership of month-end and period-end processes, including tracking progress on client jobs and meeting billing targets.
  • Tax Compliance & Reporting - Prepare and review tax returns for individuals, companies, and partnerships, ensuring all submissions are timely and compliant with current regulations.
  • Tax Strategy & Advisory - Advise clients on tax planning opportunities and corporate structuring, helping them optimise their tax positions through effective strategies.
What you'll need to succeed
  • Fully qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA)
  • Minimum of 5 years in an Accountancy Practice
  • Experience working with clients across a range of sectors
  • Professional, technical and pro-active approach to delivering advice to clients
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Sound knowledge of income tax and corporation tax
  • Good knowledge and understanding of Accounting Software packages (Sage, Xero and QuickBooks) and MS Office packages with a strong proficiency in Excel
